Apple Strikes Again
Hi guys!
Let’s talk about the hottest brand in technology right now. They have been coming up with the newest technology and updates so often that even we can’t keep up.
Yes, that’s right, you guessed it – It’s APPLE.
Apple Pencil
When using the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil expands on the versatility of Multi-Touch. It lets you make various effects, and you can even get right down to a single pixel. You can now easily sketch in the park, paint a watercolor portrait, or draft a blueprint in a single touch! Just press harder to draw thicker lines or use a gentle touch for softer lines.
IOS 9 FEATURES
You’ve probably heard of (or downloaded) the iOS 9 update! There are a bunch of new features, and if you’re not exactly sure what they are, then just keep reading! Below are a few of my personal favorite features on the update.
1. Wi-Fi Assist
I love this feature because it allows you to be care free about which Wi-Fi network you want to connect to. It’s automatically enabled by default and is very useful when your data connection may be more reliable than Wi-Fi.
To check it out, head to Settings -> Cellular and scroll all the way to the bottom past your app list.
2. Select Multiple Photos at Once (Finally)
With the iOS 9 update you can FINALLY select multiple photos at once from within the main Photos app. Obviously I love this new feature because it just makes sending pictures to friends and uploading to Facebook 10x easier.
Just tap “Select,” and then you can hold and drag to choose multiple images.
IPAD PRO
The iPad Pro, coming out in November, is taking on some laptop-like features (also with iOS 9, of course). The size of the tablet itself will allow a bigger dose of laptop-like productivity. It knows whether you’re using your finger or the Apple Pencil. When iPad Pro senses the Apple Pencil, the subsystem scans its signal giving it twice the data points it normally collects with your finger. This is great for those who design or draw on their iPads. As an advertising company that specializes in design (among many other things) we’re definitely excited about this feature.
With a 12.9 inch retina display – the iPad Pro has a bigger screen than the iPad Air because it houses Apple’s most powerful processor to date, the A9X. The X version of the A9 is only being used in the iPad Pro. Based on Apple’s description of the “PC”-class performance of the A9X, it should get the iPad Pro close to Intel INTC +0.00% laptop performance.
There will also be a physical smart Keyboard for the iPad pro! I can’t believe that it’s 2015 and Apple didn’t have a keyboard for their iPads until now, while Microsoft’s first tablet – the Surface – debuted with a detachable keyboard. Oh well, better late than never, Apple! Get pumped!
APPLE TV
The Apple TV is coming soon with a new operating system called tvOS! With a redesigned interface and a smart Siri, it provides an even more innovative way to connect with your screen to search for something to watch.
With the Apple TV, you’ll be able to use Siri to search for something to watch on demand whether it’s on Hulu, iTunes, Disney (my personal favorite), HBO, live sports and news, or weather. Basically, it’s like watching your favorite shows on your own personalized iPhone or iPad, but in TV form.
Don’t worry, you can still use to it store your photos, videos, music as well as use it for family sharing, AirPlay, and iCloud! You can even play content from your iOS device or Mac on your TV wirelessly using AirPlay.2
APPLE IPHONE6+ & IPHONE 6S+
Let’s break down the different features between the iPhone 6S plus and the iPhone 6 plus.
The iPhone 6 plus comes in silver and gray, has an A8 chip, touch ID fingerprint identity sensor, ultra-fast LTE wireless, an 8 mp iSight camera, and iOS 9.
The iPhone 6S plus comes in 4 colors (gold, silver, space gray, and rose gold), has 3D touch, features an A9 chip, ultra-fast LTE advanced wireless, a 12 mp iSight camera, and iOS 9. It also packs in more information on the screen from web pages and emails than you’ll get from the iPhone 6 and 5s. The iPhone 6S plus (and the iPhone 6 plus) has the biggest battery of all iPhones and, as a result, Apple rates it for a couple more hours of talk time, video streaming, music playback, and standby time.
To improve reachability, double tap on the home button and the screen drops down halfway to put previously out of reach interface elements within reach. This is for people who have smaller hands, like me.
With the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6S plus, the landscape email view offers an inbox list on the left and open email on the right — the same view you see on the iPad. The home screen offers a landscape view that puts the persistent menu items (mail, Safari and iTunes) in a vertical bar on the right. Email also gets a boost. Try turning your current iPhone sideways and see how mail looks. You get a list of emails, but no inbox view.
The pros of the iPhone 6S plus? It has a huge screen which shows lots of information and movies and games look amazing on it.
The cons? It’s a big, heavy phone, almost like a tablet, but more expensive than other “phablets” and it costs $100 more than the iPhone 6.
The bottom line? If you must have a phablet, the Apple iPhone 6 plus is an attractive choice.
